One of the things that makes us different is our use of graphic design in combination with photography, and one of these uses is what we like to call Words + Pictures. Its a process of taking a photo and provoking additional feeling from it by use of our original writing. It could be a poem, a simple sentence, or a single word, but can impact and draw out more emotion than the photo alone.
All photos tell some sort of story. Depending on what you are trying to achieve, a piece might not need additional storytelling to complete it, but there can be powerful effects of added storytelling to a photo or grouping of works that really enchance the overall effectiveness to create unique artwork.
We like to stimulate the mind into more thought. It’s why our photography has a certain feeling attached to it by itself, but, in reality, we are storytellers. A scene unfolds before us and we recognize it, capture it, and pass on that story for others to share.
Lets take for example an emotional scene where a father sits down with his daughter at the day of her wedding. There are strong emotions that can be felt from the photo alone, but we enhanced it to really draw out what the father might be going through his head and help the story along to create a unique atmosphere that says, yes, this is what is going on at this moment…
This same process can be used for more than just simple display on walls, here we combined Words + Pictures to create a one of a kind piece for wedding invitations.
People can usually discern what is going on in photos, but they really know the story?
